About Us

JLC is a non-profit, non-governmental organization whose primary purpose is the prevention of human rights violations, in a creative, dynamic and different way. JLC is an organization led by young professionals who use the knowledge learned to become agents of change in a society with a high degree of social injustice. JLC was born in 2003 through the management of several young students, today professionals who at the time identified the need for education as a fundamental pillar of sustainable development for groups and communities in vulnerable situations, specially indigenous communities.

In addition to that, JLC offers the opportunity to form committed young leaders in these communities through the organization delivering   workshops and the execution of other projects based on the needs of the groups and communities where the association operate.

We promote a strong sense of values and education for young leaders about their human rights. Through this, JLC provides tools that helps to  build a society that respects human rights and empowers them for the proper protection and defense of their fragile cultural existence; Working shoulder to shoulder with indigenous communities, JLC supports them to acquire the skills necessary to be self-sufficient and promote a network of solidarity among all young Hondurans, regardless of their origins and differences.

We do this to promote a society that respects human rights

This project was born from the initiative of young leaders who saw the need for change. They visualized the need for a country that protects Human Rights, gender equality, domestic violence, environmental protection, support for the economy, inclusion of the most unprotected parts of society and the equitable participation of all its members.

Nowadays, many young people have the energy and the will to get involved in philanthropic projects to support those most in need, aware that young Hondurans must be involved in a leading way in the democratic, economic, social and cultural machinery of our country, JLC propitiates spaces to forge leaders committed to values that guarantee a society that respects human rights.
